Writer-Director Jim Jarmusch’s latest, Only Lovers Left Alive, is a nice slice of life film that explores the big questions of love, death, and misery. Oh, and it’s about vampires. Continue reading

Mad Men’s John Slattery makes his feature directorial debut with God’s Pocket, an adaptation of Pete Dexter’s novel of the same name. The film features one of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final performances, but is it any good? Well, that may be in the eye of the beholder. Continue reading
To paraphrase Ian Malcom, Jeff Goldblum’s character in Jurassic Park, “Now, you do intend to have Godzilla in your Godzilla movie, yes?” Director Gareth Edwards does a lot of things right in his re-introduction of Godzilla to American audiences, but the end result is ultimately unsatisfying with a weak narrative and too much teasing of the audience. Don’t forget to click on the film titles to see trailers (if one has been released yet). I’ve compiled the lists in order of release—as of right now—and we kick it off with the return of a certain web-crawler. Continue reading
