Trying something a little new, especially since The Hodgepodge Podcast now has a Facebook Page (be sure to Like us over there if you haven’t already – Thanks!). While driving around today, Kylie Minogue‘s fantastic 2010 song “Aphrodite” popped up on my iPod from her album of the same name and I decided to start sharing videos for songs that the Hodgepodge are fans of. Y’know kind of expand our “Listen to This” series. So, check out Kylie’s best song of the last 13 years easily, “Aphrodite.” – Doug Continue reading
EPISODE 88: The Best and Worst Films of Summer 2015!
The Hodgepodge Podcast is two years old! And with that dubious anniversary comes our Third Annual Best and Worst Films of the Summer lists! This year, Doug and Dirty A changed things up a little bit. Instead of their three best and three worst each, they have provided their FIVE best films and one worst. This was due to the fact that they largely avoided many of the worst-reviewed films of the summer and they had to limit their lists to what they actually saw. Take a listen and for those of you who have been with us over these last two years, thanks for listening!

EPISODE 86: A Gift Straight Outta Zachariah’s American U.N.C.L.E.
After being away for a bit, Doug and DIrty A are back with reviews of a slew of movies including: Straight Outta Compton, The Gift, Z for Zachariah, American Ultra, and The Man from U.N.C.L.E. They also discuss Doug’s soon-to-be crippling Funko POP addiction. Continue reading
Doug Reviews: Z for Zachariah
Adapted from the novel of the same name, Z for Zachariah wraps up the summer movie season not with a bang, but with a very slow burn in one of the most tension-filled films of the year. Continue reading
Doug Reviews: American Ultra
Imagine Matt Damon’s Jason Bourne character, but as a stoner and you’ve pretty much got the premise of Director Nima Mourizadeh’s American Ultra. However, the film falters when it can’t decide if it wants to be a funny Bourne Identity or a straight up spoof like Spy. Continue reading
Doug Reviews: The Gift
On the surface, The Gift—Writer-Director Joel Edgerton’s feature directorial debut—looks like it could be a schlocky B-movie thriller, but Edgerton crafts a highly entertaining film with just a few elements holding it back from being a classic. Continue reading
Doug Reviews: Straight Outta Compton
For a music group labeled at one time, “The World’s Most Dangerous Group,” the biopic for legendary rap group N.W.A. plays things surprisingly safe. But, does that make Director F. Gary Gray’s Straight Outta Compton a bad film? Continue reading
Doug Reviews: The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
The feature film adaptation of the television show The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is probably co-Writer-Director Guy Ritchie’s least edgy project, but it is also one of his most fun. Continue reading
