If there is one Pixar property that I have never been thrilled with, itโs the Cars series. The first one was essentially a kiddie Doc Hollywood, while the second was basically Mater: The Movie. So, when I heard they were making a third Cars film, I audibly groaned. But, it is a Pixar film and I have to see them, even if they are Cars. Is the film any good? Continue reading

Doug Reviews: The Book of Henry (2017)
Directed by Colin Trevorrow, The Book of Henry is a strange film. When I left the theater, I felt that I liked it, but the more I thought about it, the more the film fell apart, despite the great performances from its young leads. Continue reading

Doug Reviews: The Mummy (2017)
In the lead up to the latest re-make of The Mummy, my greatest hope was that Tom Cruiseโs general talent for picking good material meant that this movie would be worth a damn. Happy 40th Anniversary, Star Wars!
Hey Hodgepodgers, Doug here. Every year, I get annoyed at the whole “May the 4th be with You” B.S. that happens every fourth of May. Great, an easy play on words has created an unofficial/official holiday for my favorite movies. Any Star Wars fan worth their salt knows that May 25th should be the actual holiday, because it was on this day in 1977 that Star Wars first burst onto the scene and the public consciousness. That’s 40 years ago for those who are counting. So, we at the Hodgepodge Podcast would like to celebrate Star Wars with the recognition that we NEVER give it on the podcast. ๐ Take a look back at all our Star Wars content and maybe celebrate today by growling like Chewbacca at one of your co-workers!
